Leo Samuel Turner, age 91, a resident of the Rouse Suites in Youngsville, Pa, died Monday, July 08, 2013 at the Rouse Warren County Home.
Born on September 11, 1921 in Titusville, Pa he was the son of the late Leo J. and Dorothy Kerr Turner. He was a resident of the Warren and Youngsville areas his entire life and was a 1939 graduate of Warren Area High School.
Leo was a veteran of World War II having served with the U. S. Navy and was discharged in 1945 as a fire controlman third class. He was employed with Struthers Wells Corp. as a quality technician, retiring after several years. Leo was a member of St. Joseph R.C. Church, the Warren Elks Lodge and enjoyed golf, horse shoes, billiards and bowling.
Surviving are one son, Steven C. Turner and his wife, Elizabeth Ann, of Franklin, Pa, one daughter, Susan D. Keefe and her husband, Dennis of McKeesport, Pa, five grandchildren, five greatgrandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Leo was preceded in death by two brothers, William J. and Jon M. Turner, five sisters, Eileen T. Whisner, Rita E. Yeskey, G. Jeannine Turner, and Mary “Betty” Bova and Catherine H. Pavletic, and two infant sisters, Theresa C. and Mary Yvonne Turner.
Friends will be received Holy Redeemer R. C. Church, 11 Russell Street, Warren, Pa. on Thursday, July 11, 2013 from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at which time a Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted with Msgr. John Lucas, former pastor, officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph R. C. Cemetery. Those wishing to place memorials in Leo’s memory may do so through the Rouse Warren Co.
