AOC on the move

On Thursday, July 11, the Allegheny Outdoor Club (AOC) will have a morning bike ride. Participants will meet at the Jamestown Audubon Center at 9:30 a.m. From the center they will ride to the Dairy Queen in North Warren then return. For more information, call Pat Spicer at 757-8331, evenings.

On Saturday, July, 13, the AOC will ride bikes in the Steamburg/Frewsburg area. Participants will meet at the Clay Pond on New York Avenue in Falconer at 8 a.m. From there they will ride to Randolph for breakfast then continue on to Steamburg and return via Perimeter and Ivory roads back to Falconer. Retirees to lunch

Warren County Courthouse retirees will meet for lunch on Wednesday, July 10, at 12:30 p.m. at Cable Hollow Golf Course. Those wishing to car pool should be at the parking lot north of Big Lots by 12:30 p.m.

Hill & Dale to meet

Hill & Dale Garden Club will have “A Day Lily Tour” at the Smoulder resident, 56 Kamp St., Pleasant Township, Warren. Everyone is asked to carpool to that address for the tour that will start at 10 a.m. After the group tour, Participants will go to the Crossing, Hickory St. at Pennsylvania Ave. W., Warren, for lunch and meeting.

Allegheny Center for the Arts and WCCBI are accepting photo submissions of Warren County for the 2014 calendar for July. Submissions can be sent to alleghenycenterforthearts@gmail.com until July 21. VBS planned

Have you ever wondered what is was like to live in Bible times? How people even heard about Jesus before there were phones? Why people worshipped so many fake gods? Find the answers to these questions-and more-in ancient Athens! Calvary Baptist Church, 445 Conewango Ave., Warren, will have its annual Vacation Bible School July 14-19 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. daily. The Bucktail Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America will meet at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 16, at Hoss’s Restaurant in St. Marys. The host for this meeting will be Capt.
