Chester Orville Swanson, 91, of 108 Oak Street, Warren, PA, passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2013, at the Rouse Warren County Home.
Chester was born February 27, 1922, in Ludlow, PA, the son of the late Daniel and Nan Lofgren Swanson. He was a 1940 graduate of Ludlow High School and served in the US Army Medical Corps. He held various jobs over his lifetime and was a resident of Oak Street for more than twenty years. He was an avid reader who was particularly interested in science, supernatural subjects and geography.
Chester enjoyed spending time with his siblings’ families. He was a quiet and gentle man who never spoke a bad word about anyone. He had a good sense of humor and was nicknamed Uncle Cool.
He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Violet Morelli and June Jones and brothers, Vernon Swanson and Kent Swanson.
A service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be at Gibbs Hill Cemetery in Ludlow.
