Hospitality Center

The menu for the week will be:

Monday, hamburger noodle casserole, vegetable & sheet cake for dessert; Thursday, stuffed cabbage with mashed potatoes, fruit for dessert; Friday, taco salad will be the main course along with many other entrees and pudding to top it off for the buffet. Kelly is on vacation so Jill will be cooking. Please give 24-hour reservation for lunches, and bus rides or leave the message on the phone machine.

On Monday, Carol will be doing eye testing for glaucoma from 10 a.m. to noo. There is no cost. All are welcome to come for exercise at from 3 to 4 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays.

Tuesday brings a day at Seneca Allegany Casino; sign up or call and try your luck. Bus ride is $22, and the Casino will give vouchers for $25 coin & $5 for food.

Thursday, start off the day at the Advisory Council meeting at 10:30 a.m. The council welcomes all questions and concerns for the center. Stay for lunch or just conversation and bingo after lunch.

Friday is the buffet lunch and a bridge game after lunch.

TRIPS:

The trip to Pittsburgh is full and waiting for good weather for July 26.

Sheffield VFD

Pet Parade

Sheffield Volunteer Fire Department’s 6th Annual Pet Parade will be Thursday, July 18, at 6:30 p.m. Participants are asked to meet in the parking lot behind “Sheffield Beer & Ice” no later than 6:15. the group will walk from there to the Sheffield Fire Department where the animals will be presented one by one based on the category they entered. Pets may be entered into one of the following categories; Smallest, Largest, Youngest, Oldest, Most Behaved, Best Trick, Most Unusual, and Best Costume. Anyone wishing to enter their pet(s) is asked to call April Huff at 968-5231.

Township

Tax Collection

Several changes will be taking place with the collection of Real Estate taxes in Sheffield Township. Lorie Corbin will now have her office hours at the Sheffield Township Library located at 20 Leather Street. Office hours at the Library will be as follows:

September 21 10a.m. 1 p.m.

September 28 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m .

September 23, 25, 30 from 6 p.m-8 p.m.

Payments not received during office hours may be mailed to PO Box 997, Sheffield, PA 16347. This change will allow easier access for those needing the use of the ramp. Payments will no longer be received at the home of the tax collector, only at the Library and only during the hours listed above. Do not give your taxes to the Township Librarian as she is not to collect them, only the tax collector during her hours listed above.

Library

Miss Molly will be hosting the Summer Reading Program at the Sheffield Township Library continuingWednesday, July 10, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. for children ages 4-8. “Digging into Reading” is the theme for this summer. This program will include some crafts and reading entertainment and continue on Wednesday, July 17th. The Sheffield Township Library is located at 20 Leather Street, right beside Tops Market.
