Win at bridge

Winners in Monday evening duplicate bridge game at the YMCA were Bob Greco and Mary Johnson, first with 43; Magda Fanaritis and Hal Conarro, second with 41; and Beth Howe and Carol Lake, third with 33.5.

Day camp at Hessel

Hessel Valley Lutheran Church will hold a day camp at the church on Thursday, July 11. Counselors from the Lake Chautauqua Lutheran Camp will be at Hessel Valley to bring kids an authentic “camp experience.” All kids grade one through grade five are welcome. Women to lunch

Warren Christian Women’s Connection invites all women to an “America the Beautiful” luncheon from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, at the Allegheny Community Center, 42 Clark St., Warren. Participants should note this is a change in location. Parking will be in the Clark Street parking lot in front of the building and also in back of the center. An elevator is available to the second floor. Signs will direct participants to the appropriate locations (lunch in the dining room and meeting in the education room). Debra Young of Russell will demonstrate tole painting, and music will be provided by Mary Sweeney of Ashville, N.Y. Speaker Linda Kristophel of Fombell, Pa., will talk on “You Are Beautiful,” like a diamond; our lives have many beautiful facets. Trinity Forum

The second topic for “Trinity Forum” will be “How can Christians hear and receive wisdom from other faith traditions?” at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, at Trinity Memorial Episcopal Church, Poplar St. at Pennsylvania Ave. W., Warren. According to coordinators, all doubts, questions, opinions and beliefs are honored during this discussion period. The group meets at Trinity on the second Wednesday of each month. A topic for next month’s forum will be chosen at the end of the meeting on July 10. Those with suggestions are invited to send them to trinity (trinity@trinitywarren.org).

Polka Sunday

The Slovenian Polka Boosters will dance from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, July 7, at the Big Trout Inn, Weedville. The Mikey Dee Band of McKeesport will provide music for all types of dancing. The public is invited. For information, call John and Pat Moore at (814) 837-9218.
