Melvin E. Gray, 97, of 112 W. Spruce St. Titusville, formerly of Grand Valley, went to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, July 2, 2013.

Mr. Gray was born on February 10, 1916 in Warren County, Pa, a son of the late Ralph and Genevieve Porter Gray. He was married to Alzora R. Wright on Dec. 7, 1940 in Erie. She preceded him in death on Dec. 31, 2004.

Mr. Gray was a graduate of the Warren High School, class of 1933. He had been employed at Raymond’s Spring Factory in Corry; was selfemployed as a dairy farmer for a number of years; was a machinist at the former Struthers Wells Corp. in Titusville until its closing then worked at CPT in Franklin for several years. He had also been employed at Grand Valley Manufacturing in Titusville for over 20 years until his retirement.

Mr. Gray was a lifetime member of the Midway Christian and Missionary Alliance Church where he had served as a board member and was an Elder Emeritus.

He is survived by two sons, Gilbert Gray of Macon, GA and Ronald Gray and companion Judy of Conneaut Lake; two daughters, Sharon McDuffie and her husband Scott of Vancouver WA and Marilyn Ongley and her husband Glenn of Titusville; 16 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; four brothers, Paul Gray of Warren, Russell Gray of Colorado, James Gray of Warren and Dorian Gray of Nashville, TN; two sisters Mrs. Rachel Chandler of New Mexico and Mrs. Madeline Colvin of Warren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Gray was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amitie Gray; three brothers, Herman Gray, Rev. Merle Gray, and Wendell Gray; two sisters, Helen Titsworth, and Adelle Mead.

Friends may call Friday at the Midway Christian and Missionary Alliance Church from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at which time a service will be conducted by Pastor Eric Swartzbaugh. Interment will be in East Branch Cemetery.

The family asks that memorials be made to the Midway Christian and Missionary Alliance Church and/or the Great Commission Fund.
