Jammers halt rally to earn 6th win

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. – The Jammers improved to 6-4 overall, holding on for a 6-5 New York Penn League win over Auburn on Friday at Diethrick Park.

Michael Fransoso, Jin-De Jhang and Danny Collins had two hits each for Jamestown, including two doubles for Fransoso and two RBI for Jhang.

Jovany Lopez picked up the win with two innings of scoreless relief, and Brett McKinney earned his first save in a scary top of the ninth in which the Doubledays (4-7) scored three runs.

With a runner on third and one out, McKinney struck out a batter for the second out and got a fly ball to left to end the game.
