Judge accepts pleas from 16 defendants

Six defendants entered guilty pleas, 10 pleaded not guilty and bench warrants were issued for the arrest of three others during arraignment proceedings before President Judge Maureen Skerda on Thursday morning.

Guilty pleas were entered by:

Tarren Micail McConville, 2 Cottage Place, Apt. 2, to one count each of driving while under suspension and unauthorized use of automobiles and other vehicles. One count each of theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property were not prosecuted.

Randy Lee Salapek, 151 Salapek Lane, to one count each of DUI: General impairment – incapable of safe driving – refusal – first offense and careless driving. Salapek also pleaded no contest to a count of disorderly conduct. One count each of DUI: General impairment – incapable of safe driving – first offense, reckless driving, driving on roadways laned for traffic, duty to give information and render aid, immediate notice of accident to police department and DUI: General impairment – incapable of safe driving with accident – first offense were not prosecuted. Salapek was ordered to pay full restitution.

Kevin Duane VanHouten, 1625 Stilson Hill Rd., Pittsfield, to one count each of DUI: Highest rate of alcohol (BAC .16) and careless driving. One count each of DUI: General impairment – incapable of safe driving – second offense, driving on right side of roadway and stop signs and yield signs were not prosecuted.

Jonathan Christopher Williams, 61 W. 10th St., Jamestown, N.Y., to one count of criminal trespass. A count of criminal conspiracy (theft by unlawful taking) and theft by unlawful taking were not prosecuted. Williams was ordered to pay full restitution.

On a separate docket, Williams pleaded guilty to theft by unlawful taking or disposition. One count each of criminal conspiracy and criminal trespass were not prosecuted. Williams was ordered to pay full restitution.

Christopher John Fletcher, 1 W. Third Ave., to two counts of simple assault and one count of recklessly endangering another person. Four counts of aggravated assault (extreme indifference), two counts of simple assault, one count of harassment and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child were not prosecuted.

Not guilty pleas were entered by:

Lindsay R. Campbell, 77 Fox Lane, to one count of theft by deception.

Lawrence Allen Devereaux, 3419 Hemlock Rd., to possession – small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, DUI: General impairment – incapable of safe driving – second offense, DUI: General impairment (BAC .08-.10) – second offense, driving while under suspension with DUI, driving while operating privilege is suspended/revoked, overtaking vehicle on the left, maximum speed limits and careless driving.

Christie A. Eddy, 43 Barrows St., Apt. 2, Jamestown, N.Y., to retail theft, corruption of minors and criminal conspiracy (retail theft).

William R. Finch, 43 Barrows St., Apt. 2, Jamestown, N.Y., to receiving stolen property, retail theft, criminal conspiracy (retail theft) and driver required to be licensed.

Tory Nicole Fry, 38 Deerlick St., Sheffield, to two counts of theft by unlawful taking and one count of retail theft.

Michael C. Glotz, 108 Oak St., Apt. 708, to DUI: General impairment – incapable of safe driving – first offense, DUI: Highest rate of alcohol (BAC .16+) – first offense and careless driving.

Makia N. Haines, 74 Allegheny Dr., to DUI: General impairment – incapable of safe driving – first offense, DUI: High rate of alcohol (BAC .10-.16) – first offense, driving on roadways laned for traffic, careless driving and operation of vehicle without official certificate of inspection.

Rodney Littlefield, 329 Prospect St., to two counts of motor vehicle insurance fraud and one count of criminal attempt (code as offense involved).

Melinda D. McLaughlin, 329 Prospect St., to two counts of motor vehicle insurance fraud and one count of criminal attempt (code as offense involved).

Scott Michael Ruland, 4697 Miller Hill Rd., Apt. 1, Russell, to DUI: General impairment – incapable of safe driving – first offense, DUI: Highest rate of alcohol (BAC .16+) – first offense, registration/certification of title, driving on roadways laned for traffic, careless driving, trespass by motor vehicle and restraint systems.

Bench warrants were issued for the following individuals:

Barry Jay Evans, 517 Hiland Ave., Apt. 2, Oil City, who has been charged with theft by unlawful taking or disposition, criminal conspiracy (theft by unlawful taking), theft by unlawful taking and defiant trespass.

Rodney Gage, 1190 N. Main St., Russell, who has been charged with DUI: General impairment – incapable of safe driving – first offense, DUI: Highest rate of alcohol (BAC .16+) – first offense, driving on roadways laned for traffic and careless driving.

Robert P. Guiffre, 40 Glade Ave., who has been charged with three counts of forgery and three counts of theft by unlawful taking.
