Women host hopeful speaker

A ‘Romantic” luncheon was recently hosted by Warren Women’s Christian Connection. Centerpieces were red baskets of homemade strawberry bread. Favors were strawberry magnets.

Speaker Joyce Hondru of Pittsburgh talked about always getting lost and losing things. She was married then divorced and became separated from God. Joyce felt she had hurt God. In spite of all the past wrongdoing, she found that these experiences actually brought her closer to God. Joyce said “Don’t look to the past to what used to be, but look forward to the glorious future. Nothing can separate us from the love of God through Jesus Christ. When we confess our sins, God uses an eraser. It’s gone! So, get on with living. You are not lost, but found in Jesus Christ.”

Lou Cable presented a display of her jewelry making art. Mary Sweeney of Ashville, N.Y., sang two solos.

The Connection meets on the second Tuesday of each month for lunch. It is affiliated with Stonecroft Ministries. Beginning in July, the group will meet at Allegheny Community Center. All women are welcome.
