ANNE AUGENSTEIN

Anne Caroline Schwanke Augenstein, 80, of 614 High St., Youngsville, went home to be with her Lord, Saturday, June 22, 2013 at the John and Orpha Blair Hospice House in Warren.

Anne was born April 27, 1933 in Warren, a daughter to the late Otto and Laura (Dunkle) Schwanke, and was a Youngsville resident all her life. She was a graduate of Youngsville High School and worked for many years at REA Corp. Later she was the manager and florist at the former Country Garden Flower Shop in Youngsville for 18 years. She was a current member of the First United Methodist Church in Youngsville and a 53 year member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church in Youngsville. Over the years, Anne taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School and worked on many church committees.

Anne will be remembered as a kind, caring wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who prayed for everyone. She loved the Lord and singing the hymns of the church. Anne loved to laugh and always found the best on everyone.

Anne is survived by her loving husband of 55 years Wilbur Weston “Wes” Augenstein, her 2 children, Eric (Melanie) Augenstein of Tidioute, and Laurie (Eric) Burkholder of Chambersburg, Pa. Anne loved her grandchildren, Alea Burkholder, Nathan, Haelli, Mitchell and Hannah Augenstein. Also surviving are her brothers, Tom (Melanie) Augenstein and David (Nancy) Schwanke, both of Pittsfield, her sister Cherri (Alan) Watson of Youngsville and all of her nieces and nephews who were very dear to her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Jeannie Seekings.

Friends will be received on Wednesday from 47 p.m. at the Nelson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 314 N. Main St. in Youngsville. Also for one hour before a funeral service that will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the EUM Church, 2nd St. in Youngsville with the Rev. Seth McClymond, pastor of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Warren Co. Memorial Park.
