Marjorie “Midge” Mourer, 92, of the Old Pittsfield Rd., Pittsfield, passed away Friday morning, June 21, 2013 at her longtime residence.
She was born February 26, 1921 in Warren, PA., a daughter to the late William Harold and Blanche W. (Beebe) Kelsey. She was a graduate of Warren High School and moved to the Youngsville area after she married Richard “Bill” Mourer August 12, 1939. She had worked at the Conewango Valley Country Club, the Conewango Club, and was retired from Warren General Hospital. Marjorie was also the Judge of Elections for Brokenstraw Township for many years, a volunteer at the Warren County Fair, and a member of the 8 & 40 American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed bowling, traveling, hunting, baking, and gardening. She could be seen working in her garden daily.
She is survived by her 4 children, Richard Mourer (Sandy) of Garland, Paul Mourer (Marilyn) of Warren, Elaine Mourer Dorotics (John) of North Port, FL, Marjorie “Jane” Mourer Bartosek (John) of Cranesville, PA, a sister, Winifred Blanche Kelsey Heidrick of Buffalo, NY, twelve Grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, numerous Great Grandchildren and seven Great Great Grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard “Bill”, as well as a brother, Merlin “Bus” Gail Kelsey.
Friends will be received on Tuesday from 47 p.m. at the Nelson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 314 North Main St. in Youngsville. A funeral service will be held there on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Marcus Briggs, chaplain of the Rouse Warren Co. Home officiating. Burial will be at Warren County Memorial Park where she will be laid to rest next to her husband, Richard.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorial donations should be made to a local charity.
