Violence call spurs arrest
On Friday, officers of the Warren County Adult Probation Department, assisted by the Warren City Police and the Warren County Sheriff’s Department, arrested David W. Brewer, 50, of Warren on charges of violation of probation.
Police initially responded to Brewer’s house as 102 Hammong St. for a reported break-in. During their investigation, it was determined that Brewer was the victim of domestic violence. However, Brewer admitted to officers that he had been smoking “bath salts” with a known female, when she became hysterical and allegedly threatened him with a kitchen knife.
Brewer was able to physically remove her from his house, but she returned and smashed windows to regain entry.
Brewer told officers he fled and sought refuge at a nearby relative’s house. When officers arrived, they found extensive damage to the inside the Brewer’s house. It also appeared that some rooms had been doused with gasoline.
Brewer, who was orginally placed on probation for possession of drug paraphernalia, was taken into custody by probation officers on a supervisor’s warrant and committed to the Warren County Jail pending further court action.
According to the Adult Probation Department, law enforcement officers continue to search for the known female, who was unidentified by that office.
