The menu for the week will be: Monday, meatloaf, baked potato, vegetable with frosted banana bars for dessert; Thursday, sloppy Joes, macaroni salad and birthday cake and ice cream for dessert; Friday’s buffet lunch will feature fish patties and eclair pudding.

Stop in on Monday to have your blood pressure taken by Sue from Kane Home Health. She will be at the center from 10 a.m. to noon. Tuesday will be Senior Night Out for dinner and shopping with friends. If you would like to join in call the center at 968-5667. There will be a trip to Erie for shopping and lunch on Wednesday.
Thursday will be the first picnic of the year, with an auction after lunch.
The center is near the cutoff for the “Gateway Clipper” luncheon cruise with songs of the Patsy Cline era, on July 26, Friday, then off to the Rivers Casino. Remember you do not have to be a member of the Center to go on any of the trips.
Branson is scheduled for Sept. 15-21 with a trip packed full of entertainment. Call for a brochure.
Sheffield Township Playground Summer program is in full swing with weekly themes complete with arts and crafts. Stop down Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. 3 p.m. for supervised play.
This picture was donated to the Sheffield Depot Preservation Society by Jones Chevrolet and is on display in the depot.
The baggage cart is on a permanent loan from the Wilder Museum, which is owned by the Warren County Historical Society and is on display at the Sheffield Depot.
The New Sign at the Depot was recently purchased by the society and put into place by the volunteers. Gahns Drug Store has generously donated the red white and blue banners that are hanging around the Depot.
Rod and Gun Club
The Sheffield Rod & Gun Club invites you to come to its new archery range and improved 3D course. The public is invited.
Youth Jake Field Day is today all ages up to 19 at the Sheffield Rod & Gun on Austin Hill from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Activities include a trap 22 range and archery turkey calling. 12 gauge shot guns and shells will be provided. This event is sponsored by the National Wild Turkey Federation and the Sheffield Rod and Gun Club. Hot dogs and soft drinks will be available. This a free event.
The Annual Spring Cleanup will take place in the back parking lot at the Sheffield Area Middle Senior High School today from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dumpsters will be located for Sheffield Township residents only to clean up their properties of junk and debris. Please, absolutely no household garbage, no lawn or garden trimmings and no paint or hazardous materials will be accepted.
There will be dumpsters for the recycling of electronics, computers, tv’s, etc. These items are no longer welcome in your weekly trash pickup at the landfills, so this is a great time to get rid of old tv’s and computers and other electronic items. The cost is $5 per carload; $10/$20 per pickup truck load and $5 for each appliance along with a $1 charge for each battery. Items such as old furniture, appliances, mattresses, water heaters, barrels, etc., are allowed as long as the item can be hand-dumped by the residents. No hydraulic truck bed dumping is permitted. Areas will also be set up to take scrap metal, electronics and general items. The residents are asked to please cooperate with the people at the site, ensuring efficient sorting.
