In a story about a Deerfield Township supervisors meeting in Tuesday’s Times Observer, it was reported that Roadmaster William Jewell told Supervisor John Barnes that he believed candidates could not undertake electioneering within 100 feet of a polling place. It was Barnes who told Jewell that number. Barnes said he told Jewell he believed that to be the limit in the 1990s.

The Times Observer inadvertantly used the wrong phone number and was unable to get comment from Linda Hessley on the jury commissioners story that ran Thursday. When contacted Thursday Hessley deferred comment to her attorney Bernard Hessley who said the bill abolishing the positions is unconstitutional and the procedures following the abolishment of the positions should be addressed by the state legislature.
