Chautauqua trap

Rainy and windy conditions awaited shooters during Chautauqua County Trap League competition on Thursday. Celoron topped Carroll by a 340-311 count and Randolph slid past Busti, 339-337.

Celoron’s Dave Anderson and Scott Carter and Busti’s Jack Hunt shot the only perfect 50’s for the night. Stephanie Tutmaher was high lady with a 47, Andrew Hvizdzak was high junior with a 49 and Ben Paddock was high sub-junior with a 46. Tom Boire, Bob Faga and Clyde Knapp all shared high vet honors with scores of 49, Jerry Willett was high senior vet with a 49 and Bill Dallas was high senior vet with a score of 47.

YMCA soccer signups

Registration forms are now being accepted for the 2013 Warren County YMCA Fall Recreational Soccer League. Registration forms will be accepted until June 30 and no forms will be accepted after that date. Age groups available to register for include U8 co-ed, U10 boys and girls, U12 boys and girls and U15 boys and girls. The cost is $35 for members of the YMCA and $40 for non-members. Registration forms should be cut out from the ad in today’s Times Observer and returned completed to the YMCA.

Golf results

The team of Rick Rohlin and Scott Pierson shot the low gross score of 33 this week in Monday Scratch League play at Cable Hollow Golf Course. Rohlin and Pierson also placed first in the points competition with 33 points. Ron Lemon and Dan Lemon were second with 29 points and Dale Martin and Al Ludwick were third with 27 points.

Gary Bailey had low gross of 38 and Chris Henry had low net of 31 in 2-Man Golf League play, Tuesday, at Cable Hollow Golf Course. Mike Anderson and Terry Anderson took first place this week with 80.5 points, Matt DeLong and Ryan Lemon were second with 78 points and the teams of Lucian DiNapoli and Mike Fisher and Justin Kell and Gary Page shared third place with 75 points each.

The teams of Rick Nasman and Dave Bortz and Terry Moldovan and Justin Norris shared the low gross round of 35 and Bill Kulinski and Colby Clark had the low net round of 32 in Fitch Disposal Scramble League play, Tuesday, at Cable Hollow Golf Course. Nate Perkins and John Albaugh took first place with 34 points, the teams of Moldovan and Norris and Bucky Hilyer and Tom Moore shared second place with 29 points and Jeff Logan and Jeff Passaro finished third with 28 points.

The teams of Ron & Deb Leofsky and John & Judy Dale and Jim & Betsy Senger and Doug & Barb Wilson shared first place in a Couples Tournament held Friday at Conewango Valley Country Club with 67 points apiece. The team of Ashton & Linda Ditka and Bob & Andrea Sedon took second place with 68 points.

Eisenhower High School graduate Nathan O’Brien will play for the North team in the 2nd Annual Northwestern Pennsylvania North-South Senior All-star Game scheduled for 7 p.m., Saturday, June 15, at Oil City Area High School. O’Brien completed his four-year career for the Knights last November and is committed to playing Division II football for Lock Haven University this fall.

Camp change

Due to construction in the Eisenhower High School gym, the Eisenhower Boys Basketball Camp scheduled for next week will be held in the Warren Area High School gymnasium. The camp, intended for boys in grades 5-8, will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., Monday June 10 through Friday, June 14.
