Mr. Charles M. Cooper, Jr., 61, passed into the next life at 3:10 a.m. Monday, May 20, 2013 at his residence in Sheffield, following an illness of two months. He was born January 23, 1952 in Staten Island, NY to Anne Marie Williams of Ashburn, Va. and the late Charles M. Cooper.
A resident of Sheffield for the past six years, Charles had lived in many other states, due to employment, including Alaska and Florida. He was a trained chef and carpenter. In addition to spending time with his grandsons, Charles loved to shoot trap and was a member of Sheffield Rod & Gun, Kalbus Club, and Kane Rod & Gun. A social member of Sheffield VFW and a diehard Yankee’s fan; he also attended St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.
In addition to his mother, Charles is survived by, a daughter Shannon Woodward and husband Robert, Sheffield; a son Ryan Cooper and wife Jaime, N.C.; three grandsons, Jack, Liam, and Emmet; eight siblings, Catherine Crawford, NY, Deborah Dunbar, Va., Colleen Ambrosia, Texas, Kelly Luckenbach, NJ, Brian Cooper, Pa., Jennifer Cooper, Pa., Tracy Connors, NJ, and Allison Gaspar; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, June 1, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with Reverend Father John R. Neff, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Cemetery. Friends will be received Friday, May 31, 2013, from 6:00 8:00 p.m. at the BordenLloyd Funeral Home where a Vigil Service will be held at 7:45 p.m.
The family suggests memorial donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
