Does your child like to draw? Children age 5 and older could get recognition for his/her drawing talents by submitting artwork to the Warren Public Library’s Bookmark Contest. The winner’s artwork will be printed on a bookmark that will later be available for display and public distribution at the Warren Public Library. Details of the contest include: one entry per child age 5 and older; use crayons, markers, or colored pencils to draw artwork on an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of plain white paper; child should sign his/her first name only on the backside of the white drawing paper; submit entries to the Children’s Department in the library by 5 p.m. on Friday, May 31; complete and attach a contest form to the entry – contest forms are located in the Children’s Department on the semi-circle between the children’s computers. There will be two winners. Rick Blumquist, owner of Moments in Art will donate his printing services by making copies of the winning bookmarks. Winners will be notified by phone on June 5. Call the library at 723-4650 and direct any questions to the Children’s Department.
Allegheny Community Center will have a trip to see “Noah” in Lancaster June 26-27. Several seats remain open for this wonderful experience. Trip will include bus, play, hotel, dinner, breakfast, and tours of the Intercourse Canning Company, Pretzel Company and the Wilbur Chocolate Factory. An inspirational gospel sing will be given by Tim Farnsworth and friends beginning at 7 p.m. Saturday at Faith Fellowship Church of God, 208 Market St., Warren.
Because the Allegheny Community Center, 42 Clark St., Warren, will be closed for Memorial Day on Monday, bingo has been moved to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.
