Samuel G. Howe, age 90, of Endeavor, PA, died on Friday, May 17, 2013 at UPMC Hamot Hospital in Erie, Pa. He was born December 23, 1922 in Endeavor, son of the late George M. and Elizabeth (Douglas) Howe. Sam worked for 38 years at the National Forge in Irvine as a machinist. He was a member of Olive Lodge #557 F&AM Masons of Tionesta. He served his Country during WW II in the US Army, and was a member of the Endeavor Presbyterian Church. He loved to hunt and fish.
Surviving are 2 sons, Michael L. Howe and his wife Patricia of Hampton, VA; James D. Howe and his wife Denise of Endeavor. A daughter, Darceia A. Howe of Peoria, AZ. 8 grandchildren, 7 greatgrandchildren. Several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Sam was preceded in death by 5 brothers, Raymond, Warren, James “Stub”, Wayne, and Virgil.
Friends will be received at the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home of Tionesta on Thursday from 24 and 68. Military Honors will be accorded graveside at the East Hickory Cemetery on Friday, May 24, 2013 at 1p.m.
