ROSE CHRISTIANSON

Rose Marie Lehmann Christianson of 1535 Trask Rd., Sugar Grove, passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at Warren Manor.

Rose was born on October 16, 1925 in Sugar Grove to the late Chris and Margie Trask Lehmann. She attended Lander Elementary and Lander High School and graduated in May 1944. After graduation, she moved to Jamestown, NY to live with her aunt and uncle and began work at the Loblaws grocery store. It was here that she met her future husband, Roy, who was also employed by Loblaws at that time. While Roy was in the service, Rose took an office job at Crescent Tool Co. in Jamestown. When Roy was discharged from the service and returned to Jamestown, they were married on June 11, 1949. Rose and Roy moved to Sugar Grove in 1950, where she lived for 62 years until her move to Warren Manor in May 2012. When her children were in school, she began working at the Lander Elementary School cafeteria. She later moved to the Eisenhower High School cafeteria where she had the job of a baker. She loved to cook and bake, and was well known in the family circle for her crescent rolls. While working at the Lander Elementary and Eisenhower cafeterias, she perfected her sugar cookie recipe. After retirement, Rose and Roy loved to travel around the United States and Canada visiting such destinations as Bermuda, Hawaii, Branson, MO, and the Grand Canyon. A train trip across Canada and a steamboat ride down the Mississippi River were highlights of their travels.

Rose was an avid sports fan. She was a faithful follower of Pittsburgh Pirates baseball, Buffalo Bills football and Buffalo Sabres hockey.
