Drug store robber sentenced
A man charged in the January robbing of Crone’s Drug Store in downtown Warren was sentenced to between 12 and 23 1/2 months in the Warren County Jail, with an additional eight years of probation, during sentence court proceedings on Friday.
Ryan Chandler Bodecker, currently incarcerated in the Warren County Jail, committed the robbery on Jan. 7. He allegedly demanded morphine pills and syringes. The police report indicated that he took refuge in a garage in the back yard of 108 East St. following a pursuit with the store’s owner and law enforcement officers.
Before his sentence was imposed, Bodecker said that “that was not me,” explaining that he had left the detox unit at Warren General Hospital shortly before committing the crime. Apologizing before the court, he said that this was the “first time in jail and I would like it to be my last.”
On the felony robbery count, in addition to the jail time where he was given credit for 130 days served, Bodecker was sentenced to pay $2,500 in fines and fees, three years probation, undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation and participate in treatment and 100 hours of community service.
He was sentenced to an additional one year of probation and 30 hours of community service for each of the following: criminal trespass, two counts of theft by unlawful taking and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.
On an additional count of possession of drug paraphernalia he was fined $200.
