Rescheduled

The Franklin at Youngsville girls softball game originally scheduled for Tuesday, May 14 has been changed to 4 p.m., Friday, May 10, at Youngsville High School.

The Franklin at Eisenhower baseball game originally scheduled for Monday will now be played at 4 p.m., Tuesday, at Werner Park in Russell.

Gymnastics

Russell’s Jesse Valone, a member of the Stroup’s Shooting Stars gymnastics team, has been adding to her awards collection during the past couple of weeks.

At the Lucky Stars Invitational at Jamestown Community College, Valone placed fourth on the floor exercise in the platinum Xcell division with a score of 9.225. Teammates Cheyenne Mora and Remington Jensen of Columbus competed as event specialists in the platinum Xcell division. Mora was eighth on the floor with an 8.80 and sixth on the vault with a score of 8.425.

At the Elmira Spring Fling, Valone placed in all four events as well as the all-around competition. She was third on the vault with a 7.75, second on the bars with an 8.70, fourth on the beam with a 7.45, first on the floor with a 9.40 and second in the all-around with a 33.30.

At the Spring Graffiti meet held at West Seneca’s Niagara Court Center, Valone placed 12th on the bars with a score of 9.00 and fifth on the floor with an 8.95.

Golf scramble

The 14th Annual Paws Along The River Golf Scramble will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, May 19, at Jackson Valley Golf Club. The event will have a shotgun start and more information can be located at www.pawsalongtheriver.org.

Big 30 addition

Warren Area High School senior Mark Davis is a Warren County addition to the Pennsylvania team for the 40th Annual Don Raabe Big 30 Charities Classic football game scheduled for Saturday, August 3, at Bradford’s Parkway Field.

Davis is a 6’5, 175-pound receiver and defensive end who plans on attending Slippery Rock University in the fall.

Golf results

Larry Brown, Steve Gelotte, Pat Hultquist, Dick Merenick and Jerry Carr all shared low gross of 40 and Kenny Rowland had low net of 31 in Blueberry Senior Golf League competition on Monday. Dave Progar, Dave Peck, Brown, Jim McMillen and Tom Erickson all had second low net of 33.

Merenick had two birdies during play while Bob Wolfe, Progar, Gelotte, J. Samuelson and Hultquist all had one each. Here are the team results from Monday’s round:

Denny Ayers had low gross of 36 and Don Smith had low net of 28 in Senior Men’s Golf League play Friday at Cable Hollow Golf Course. Ayers was the high point taker with 9.5 points, Pat Hultquist had the most pars with six, Ayers had four birdies, Jim Terrill and Jerry Carr two birdies each and Bob Orbanic, Dick Schuler, Bob Wolfe, Ralph Gallo, Jon Nelson, Hank Mole and Jay Mengel one birdie each.

The team of Vince Messina and Jim Vecellio won a Weakest Link Tournament Saturday at Conewango Valley Country Club with a score of 139.

The team of John & Judy Dale and Ron & Deb Leofsky won a Couples Tournament held Friday at Conewango Valley County Club with a score of 19.4. The team of AL & Leslie Baldensperger and Jim & Debbie Vecellio was second with a score of 22 and Myron & Kirsten Turfitt and Jack & Nancy Shattuck were third with scores of 22.1.

Youth soccer

The Kinzua U14 boys soccer team defeated Greenville, 6-0, on Sunday. Ryan Duckett, Kelly Glotz, Jimmy Lobdell, Lionel Eason, Troy Shattuck and Conner Guiffre all had goals for the winners with Griffin Suppa, Bryce McCracken, Glotz, Eason and Tanner Kays adding assists. Seth Harrington and Dominic Giannini split time in goal.
