Student breakfast

The Youngsville High School Class of 1961 invites all class members first through twelfth-grades to come to the monthly breakfast event on Wednesday, May 8 at 9 a.m. at Richard’s Restaurant in Youngsville. Feel free to invite significant others, spouses, friends and family.

Habitat for

Humanity

Habitat for Humanity of Warren County will meet on Thursday, May 9 at 6:30 p.m. to discuss a partner family needed for a one story house. The three bedroom house with open style living, dining and kitchen area. has about 1,800 square feet of living space and is marginally handicap accessible with wider door jams and hand rails in the bathroom. The house has been built by the students in the construction class of the Warren County Career Center. For more information call Olivia Sechrist 723-1967.

Oximetry readings

Pulse Oximetry readings will be done by Lenore Miles from Seneca Home Health at the Allegheny Community Center on Tuesday, May 7 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. A small electronic device is attached to the end of your finger with a plastic clip, i measures how much oxygen is carried in your blood.

Class to lunch

Warren Area High School Class of 1959 will celebrate the wonderful spring blossoms with a luncheon at Cable Hollow Golf Course on Tuesday, May 7 at 12:30 p.m. Meeting will be in the back room and discuss possible 55 class reunion in 2014, so come ready to share good ideas. Cable Hollow is handicap accessible. Feel free to bring a spouse or guest.

Warren Area High School Class of 1950 will meet for lunch on Thursday, May 9 at Four Sons in Kane at 12:30 p.m Carpool will leave from Sure Fine at 11:30 a.m.

SRT parent

session

A Silver Ring Thing parent session will be held on Thursday, May 9 at 7 p.m. at Faith Fellowship Church. Pastor J. Maier, Youth Pastor of First Church of the Nazarene will lead a review discussion of and also share free resources which can equip parents and youth leaders to inspire a generation to wait. Included will be a guide to helping develop moral convictions for children, creating an environment for sexual purity in the home and discussing life applications. Parents, guardians, youth workers, grandparents and relatives who were unable to attend the SRT event last October or who would like to view and discuss the parental session video again are invited to attend. Pre-registration is encouraged but is not required. Call the Pregnancy Support Center at 723-4357. Child care is available and light refreshments will be served.

Women of Warren High School class of 48 will lunch at Richard’s Restaurant in YOungsville on Thursday, May 9 at noon. We will carpool from Perkins at 11:30 a.m.

AARP to meet

The local Chapter 4297 of AARP will meet Wednesday, May 8 at 1 p.m. in Richards, Rt. 6 Youngsville, for lunch and business meeting. Public is welcomed to join, lunch is off the menu at own expense. For reservation and question about this meeting call 723-7814 by Tuesday May, 7.

Open House

On Wednesday, May 8, Wilkes University will hold an open house for educators interested in pursuing a masters degree in Classroom Technology or Educational Development and Strategies. Warren Philomel will meet at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 8 at the Woman’s Club, 310 Market St., for a Spring Luncheon, 11:30 a.m. for punch, 12:00 p.m. Philomel Chorus program; 12:30 p.m. business meeting; 1 p.m. lunch. Chairperson will be Linda Clark Peterson, the Philomel Chorus as performers; and hostesses are Sherry Albrecht, Donna Sadler and Marjorie Brenan.
