EDWARD RANKIN

Edward P. Rankin, 67, of Goodwill Hill Rd., Grand Valley, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family at 9 a.m. Monday, April 29, 2013, at his residence following an extended illness.

Ed was born December 23, 1945 in Titusville, a son of Frank E. Rankin and the late Shirley Martin Rankin. He attended Titusville High School.

He formerly served on the police and sheriff departments in Thermopolis, Wyoming. Ed also was active in the construction industry for many years until his health became a factor.

Ed has been the president of Pinecreek Hunting Association for the past five years. He loved to play the guitar and sing. Ed played with several local bands over the years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and spending time in the outdoors.

Survivors include his loving wife Bertha Woloszn Rankin of Grand Valley, whom he married February 20, 2013 in Youngsville; his father Frank E. Rankin of Titusville; two sons, Jason Rankin and his wife Sarah of Grand Valley, and Shane Rankin and his wife Sarah of Thermopolis, WY; a daughter Joni Wescoat and her husband Kevin of Grand Valley; 11 grand children; a greatgrandson; a sister Sue Duncan of Titusville; a niece Sonja Thomas of St. Petersburg, FL; two nephews, Cory Rankin of Corry and Chuck Duncan and his wife Veronica of Brownwood, TX; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother, a granddaughter Katherine Wescoat and a brother Ronald Rankin.

Relatives and friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Leo N. Hennes Funeral Home, Inc., 203 E. Main St., Titusville, where the funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday with Rev. Jerry Drake, pastor of Faith Community Church, officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
