Rescheduled

The Warren at General McLane baseball game originally scheduled for Monday was postponed. The game will be made up at 4 p.m., Thursday, at General McLane High School in Edinboro.

The Corry at Warren softball game scheduled for Monday was postponed. No makeup date has been announced.

Youth mat

Russell’s Cael Black, a member of the Ragin’ Raisins Wrestling Club of North East, recently finished in first place in the Midget Division’s 130-pound weight class at the Tournament of Champions event in Columbus, Ohio. The Tournament of Champions is billed as the largest one-day tournament in the world with over 3,000 wrestlers from 34 states in attendance.

Golf results

Urban Bires and Dave Progar shared low gross of 42 and Gary Redick had low net of 36 in Blueberry Senior Golf League play Monday at Blueberry Hill Golf Club. Wayne Swanson and Bob Wolfe shared second low gross of 43, Progar had second low net of 37 and Dave Peck had third low net of 38.

Andy Kegel and Jerry Carr had birdies during the round. Here are the team results from Monday’s competition:

Here is the slate of games for the opening night of the Over 30 Modified Softball League, playing Tuesdays at Betts Park:

Big 30 additions

Youngsville High School senior T.J. Hardy is a Warren County addition to the Pennsylvania team for the 40th Annual Don Raabe Big 30 Charities Classic football game scheduled for Saturday, August 3, at Bradford’s Parkway Field.

Hardy is a 6’2, 210-pound tight end, defensive back and kicker who holds virtually all of Youngsville’s kicking and points records. He was named to the all-state team by Pennsylvania Football News as a kicker after the 2011 season.

Sheffield High School senior Tyler Fitzgerald is a Warren County addition to the Pennsylvania team for the 40th Annual Don Raabe Big 30 Charities Classic football game scheduled for Saturday, August 3, at Bradford’s Parkway Field.

Fitzgerald is a 6’1, 190-pound tight end and defensive back who was an Allegheny Mountain League all-star on defense as well as Sheffield’s defensive MVP for the 2012 season.

Girls Majors champs

Ten-Four Limited had 68 hits and a 3-1-1 record en route to the Warren County Youth Baseball Softball Association (WCYBSA) Girls Majors Tournament title on Saturday at Farm Colony Complex.

Gracie Wood and Kiersten Hoffman hit home runs for Ten-Four, Hoffman had two triples and Mariesa Clarke added a triple, and Lexi Head two doubles, as well as one each from Ceci Citro, Wood, Hoffman and Kaileigh Ecklund.

Hoffman, Wood, Head and Citro pitched for Ten-Four, allowing 19 hits over 20 innings. Hoffman struck out 12 over five innings in an 18-7 championship game win over second-place D&I Silica.
