DeFrees Center holds Children’s Fair

The Jefferson DeFrees Center held a Children’s Fair Saturday.

Executive Director Cindy Paulmier said, “It’s a part of the Month of the Young Child we’ve been doing for at least the last five years. It’s been cut way back because of (loss of) funding, but it’s still a free event for families.”

A disc jockey entertained the families and events included child development activities, fine motor skills games, a spinning wheel with prizes and Marty’s Bubble Gum Machine.

In addition to those provided by the Center, displays were provided by the Warren County Dairy Promotion Board, the YMCA, the Rouse Home, Don Mills Achievement Center, Intermediate Unit 5, Warren Public Library, Free Books for Kids, the Red Cross, the Achievement Center, Warren/Forest Human Services, WACOPSE Federal Credit Union, Beacon Light Behavioral Health, head Start, the Fresh Air fund and Integrity Martial Arts.

From 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. next Saturday the Center will celebrate it’s 100th Anniversary with an ice cream social, tours, and informal activities.
