A volunteer search party discovered a body Sunday.
“On Sunday, April 28, 2013, a body was discovered by a voluntary search group and recovered from Conewango Creek above Fifth Avenue in Warren,” Warren County District Attorney Ross McKeirnan said Sunday afternoon. “No confirmation as to identification or cause of death has been made at this time.”
“I have been in consultation with Warren County Coroner Jerry Borden,” McKeirnan said. “An autopsy has been scheduled for tomorrow (Monday).”
The search was organized as an effort to locate the body of the Rev. Dan Wolboldt.
Wolboldt, scoutmaster of North Warren Boy Scout Troop 13 and pastor at both the Interfaith Chapel on the grounds of Warren State Hospital and Emanuel United Church of Christ in Warren, was reported missing on the morning of March 23.
Officials did not confirm the identity of the body.
“We do not have positive identification until we get to a forensic odontologist,” Borden said. “We’re trying to get positive identification and cause and manner of death.”
Organizers of the search reported that the body was found at 10:47 a.m., Sunday.
An organizer of the search said he has “mixed feelings” over the discovery of the body.
“I was very grateful that we could pull this many people together for this search,” Gregg Trisket said.
