The Warren-Forest Area Agency on Aging will serve the following menu at Allegheny Community Center and other Warren-Forest centers April 29-May 3: stuffed peppers Monday; scalloped chicken Tuesday; sloppy joe Wednesday, tuna noodle casserole Thursday, chef surprise Friday. Locations at Marienville, Sheffield, Tidioute and Endeavor will serve menus from Monday, Tuesday and Friday for the three-day sites. Eligible participation is 60 years and older with a suggested donation of $3. Call 723-3763 for information regarding congregate meal sites or center locations. Menu is subject to change based on availability.

Many “green thumbs” are needed this spring at the Allegheny Community Center Greenhouse located on the State Hospital grounds. Volunteers are needed to transplant, water and sell plants and to work with kids and adults who come to observe activities in the greenhouse. If you’re interest in volunteering, please contact Sue Himes at the RSVP office at the Allegheny Community Center on Clark Street at 723-3237.

Great overnight and extended trips: Wildwood/Cape May, NJ, bus leaves CRI lot at 6 a.m., May 13-17; Noah spectacular at Sight and Sound Theater in Lancaster, June 26 & 27; Baltic heritage trip, Aug. 17-Sept. 2; Boston & Salem, MA, trip, Oct. 15-18; New York City at Christmas, Dec. 10-13. All non-casino trips leave from the CRI parking lot located on Pennsylvania Avenue West, just over the railroad tracks on the left (along the river), unless otherwise instructed to park elsewhere. Salamanca Casino trips depart from the Big Lots parking lot at the Warren Mall, as always. Not sure, just call 723-3237!

ACC is open from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. M-F with extended hours until 7 p.m. on Mon. & Wed. ACC is closed for all activities and meals on legal holidays and on those days when Warren County schools are closed unexpectedly due to bad weather. Hot lunches are available Mondays-Fridays at noon. You can call your reservation to 723-3237. Bistro lunch is available on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with no reservation required. Take-outs available.
