MARTHA SAMPSON

Martha L Sampson, 90, of South Main Street, Russell, Pa., passed into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on April 25, 2013.

Martha was born July 8, 1922, in Warren, Pa. the daughter of the late Herman and Florence Peterson Wilkins. Martha was a 1940 graduate of Warren High School; and a lifelong area resident, living in Russell for the past fortythree years. Martha was also a lifelong member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church. She was employed with the Bell Telephone Company as an operator for several years.

Martha loved her home, which she maintained meticulously, inside and out. She especially liked being outdoors gardening in the sunshine. She and her family used to enjoy ice skating at Skinner’s pond and Beaty Field. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Sampson, Warren, Pa. and Pamela Sudul, Las Vegas, Nev.; three grandchildren, Michelle Esber, Las Vegas, Nev., Lisa Parsons, and husband, Kevin, Kennett Square, Pa. and Kelly Hernandez, and husband, Israel, Las Vegas, Nev.; eight greatgrandchil dren, Ashley, Brittany, Alexis, Haiden, Eve, Tyler, Madyson and Emma; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death on November 8, 2010, by her high school sweetheart, later becoming her loving husband, Allan Alexander Sampson, whom she married on October 27, 1944. She is also preceded in death by her greatgrandson, Liam R. Parsons.

Friends will be received on Monday, April 29, 2013, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 306 Conewango Avenue, Warren, for one hour prior to a funeral service to be held there at 11 a.m. with The Rev. David Blank, pastor, First Lutheran Church and Rev. Marcus Briggs, chaplain, Rouse Warren Co. Home and Warren General Hospital, coofficiating.

Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Russell, Pa.
