Adam Irwin had a nice birthday – playing ball.

The 13-year-old had two RBI, and struck out six over five innings – allowing just two runs, in a 5-2 Boys Juniors win for Rod Johnson Construction.

Evan Tremblay joined the party, with two hits and two RBI in the win.

In Boys Minors play, James Swanson and Kyle Swick were each 3-for-3 in Means Sales and Service’s 15-6 win. Sean Duckett was 3-for-3 for Whirley in the game.

Alex Borger hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the first to start Warren Fence Company’s scoring effort in a Boys Minors win. Derek McMeans went 2-for-2, continuing his hitting streak, and Ben Salapek brought the heat by striking out nine in the last three innings in relief of winning pitcher Hunter Harding in a no-hitter.

Trinity Wennberg struck out 12 over six innings to lead United Refining to a close 8-7 win over Ten-Four Ltd. Kiersten Hoffman matched her in the last four innings, striking out seven and allowing one run for Ten-Four.

Alexis Nyquist, Kelsey Stuart, Jordan Sitler and Kamryn Weissinger reached base three times each, and Nyquist and Shelby Kuzminski had ringing doubles, in Animalistics Outdoors’ Girls Minors win. Stuart had three assists at second base and Taylor Childress five putouts at first for the Animals. Ryleigh Yeager reached base twice and scored two runs for Inscale Architects, and Morgan Munksgard had three strikeouts in an inning pitched.

Animalistics Outdoors kept on winning in Girls Juniors, too. Leading 15-1, Exchange Club scored 13 runs in the bottom of the third before the rains came. With the bases loaded and two outs, Animalistics second baseman Gabby Lent came up with a grounder and threw to first baseman Morgan Olsen to end the comeback.

Ryan Rafalski, Max Conklin and Bryce Blair combined on a four-inning no-hitter, striking out nine in Wells Fargo Advisors’ 15-1 Boys Minors victory over Exchange Club on Thursday. Conklin had two of his teams three hits on the evening.
