HS TRAP: Corry, Sheffield lead high school trap league
Sheffield and Corry are tied atop the Warren County Scholastic Trap League standings heading into a crucial showdown next week.
After week four of the league – completed on Tuesday – Corry and Sheffield have six points each (two points for a win, one for a tie, zero for a loss), followed by Youngsville with five points, Warren White with four points and Eisenhower with three points.
On Tuesday, Eisenhower fired the league’s top score during its 169-168 victory over Warren White. In other varsity action, Sheffield stayed unbeaten with a 162-159 win over Warren Blue and Youngsville topped Tidioute, 166-141. Corry was on bye this week and shot a 167.
In Sheffield’s win, Ricky Prosen led the team by two shots, finishing with a perfect score of 25. Warren Blue was led by the 24’s of Matt Falvo, Michael McDunn and Brady Carl.
Eisenhower’s narrow win featured three perfect scores, including those by Jacob Nugent, Ethan Black and Elijah Trawick. Jack Donovan, Kate Donovan, Ashlee McClure, Aaron Borger, Nate Park, Ross Betts and Eric Cecco all shot 24’s for the Dragons.
Youngsville received a perfect score from Jason Gustafson while Tidioute was led by Brian Bonner’s 23. Andy Tasker and David Mitchell shot perfect 25’s for Corry on bye.
