BASEBALL: Ike outhit at Northwestern

ALBION – Eisenhower’s early season offensive struggles continued Tuesday with the Knights being limited to just three hits in a 10-3 loss to Northwestern at Northwestern High School.

The loss drops the Knights to 1-4 on the season, entering an important region game with Youngsville scheduled for Wednesday at Werner Park in Russell.

Eisenhower spotted Northwestern a 5-0 lead in Tuesday’s game before rallying to score three runs between the fourth and fifth innings. The Wildcats led 7-3 after four and a half innings before another three-spot by the home team effectively ended the game.

Coty Cantrell, Casey Vincent and Kyle Hunt all finished with one hit each for the Knights in defeat. Shane Arford was charged with the loss after pitching the first inning and a third and Logan Bellardo and Ryan Williams also pitched in relief.

Northwestern won the junior varsity contest, 13-3. No other details were available.
