Youth mat

Clarendon’s Austin Gregerson was one of four Sheffield Area High School wrestlers that competed in the Columbus Tournament of Champions, Saturday, in Columbus, Ohio. Gregerson finished eighth in his weight class during the event.

Hole in one

Joe Wilks record a hole in one on the fourth hole at Blueberry Hill Golf Club on Monday. The ace was witnessed by Brent Casey, Bob Cisek and Tim Bleech.

Golf results

Roy Swanson had low gross of 38 and Jon Carlson and Gary Redick shared low net of 34 in Monday Golf League play at Blueberry Hill Golf Club. Pat Hultquist and Ralph Gallo shared second low gross of 41. Swanson had two birdies during play and Carlson, Hultquist and Dave Progar had one each. Joe Wilks had an eagle during play.

MMA news

Warren’s Anthony Durnell won a unanimous decision over former two-time MMA champion Kyle Rozewski, Saturday, April 13, in Pittsburgh. The event was held under the Pinnacle Fighting Championships (PFC) promotion as well as the Pennsylvania Athletic Commission.

With the win, Durnell improved his professional record to 13-4-0. Durnell remains undefeated under the PFC banner. The bout was scored 29-28 by all three judges in favor of Durnell.


The Youngsville at Fairview baseball game originally scheduled for Monday was postponed due to Fairview needing to play a region game. The non-region game between the Tigers and Eagles will be made up at 4 p.m., Friday, May 3, at Fairview Area High School.

The Warren at Jamestown (NY) baseball game scheduled for Thursday has been postponed. The game will be made up at 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 30, at Jamestown High School in Jamestown, N.Y.

The Eisenhower at Northwestern baseball game postponed on Saturday will be made up at 4 p.m., Tuesday, at Northwestern High School in Albion.

In an addition to its preseason schedule, the Eisenhower girls track team will travel to North Clarion on Wednesday to compete in a track & field meet with the Lady Bobcats. The meet will begin at 4 p.m.


The Friends of Warren Basketball will hold a meeting at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, in Mr. Passmore’s room at the Warren County Career Center. The meeting is open to the public and all those wishing to attend are encouraged to do so.
