Ronald L. Harrington, 65, of White St., Corry, Pa., died on Saturday, April 20, 2013, at Corry Memorial Hospital.

He was born on September 7, 1947 in Corry, Pa., a son of Dorothy Lewis Harrington, formerly of Elgin, Pa., and the late Lyle Harrington.

Ron was raised and educated in Corry graduating from Corry Area High School in 1965. He worked for a short time at Corry Jamestown Corporation before serving with the U. S. Army during the Viet Nam War. Following his discharge, Ron returned to Corry and his job at Corry Jamestown Corp., where he was a department leader in the filing cabinets and desks area. Since the mid 1990’s, he has worked at the BP Station on E. Main Street in Corry where he was a twotime recipient of Favorite Clerk award in The Journals, Best of Contest.

Ron was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Corry. He served as an usher and also played on the church softball and bowling teams. He enjoyed spending time with his family, usually playing cards or Wii bowling. He especially liked watching his children and grandchildren participate in various sports and school activities. Ron will be fondly remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor.

In addition to his mother, Ron is survived by his wife, Jackie Barr Harrington, whom he married on June 11, 1969 in Beaverdam, Pa.; a daughter, Rebecca Harrington of Corry, Pa.; a son, Thomas Harrington and his wife Cheri of Warren, Pa.; and four sisters, Jackie Rittenhouse and her husband James of West Spring Creek, Pa., Judy Kuberry and her husband Charles, Diane Chitester and her husband Daniel and Kay Winters and her husband Richard, all of Corry, Pa. He is also survived by three grandsons, Christian, Seth and Thomas, Jr.; and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to call at the Bracken Funeral Home, 315 N. Center St., Corry, Pa., on Tuesday from 69 p.m. and attend the funeral service at the First United Methodist Church, 650 Worth St., Corry, Pa., on Wednesday at 11 a.m. Rev. John Zimmerman will officiate.

Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Corry, Pa.
