Donations for house still needed

House of Hope has a house, but it still needs help.

With renovations estimated at more than $70,000 and the challenge of furnishing a running household from scratch, the organization is looking to the community for a hand.

The organization is looking for donations, both of needed goods and of funds.

House of Hope will be part of the Warren Gives fundraiser on May 8. During Warren Gives, donations will be accepted online at from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m.

“On the website, please choose House of Hope of Warren County to support our work,” board member Kate Reed said.

The group is looking for volunteers to help with renovations at the house and will have a sign-up at their open house on April 26.

Items needed for the house include, but are not limited to:

Four complete twin beds with mattresses and box springs

Two twin mattress and box spring sets

Night stands

A dining room table with eight to ten chairs

A dining room buffet

A living room couch and chairs

A refrigerator

A dryer

An upright freezer

Household items (towels, washcloths, etc.)

“Basically, everything needed to set up a house,” Resident Director Dianne Sherman said.

Donations are also being accepted through Grace Zerbe Wright at 723-2084 and Sherman at 6889-7802 or online at
