Zaffino wins 21st PBA regional title

GALION, OHIO – Jeff Zaffino’s 21st career PBA Regional title was at the same place as his 18th career PBA Regional title.

The reigning PBA Central Region Player of the Year for 2012, Warren’s Zaffino defended his title at the 2013 PBA50 Victory Lanes Central Open at Victory Lanes in Galion, Ohio.

In the 34-person event, Zaffino earned his fourth PBA Senior regional crown, qualifying second over eight games with 1,761 pins (a 220.12 average). Those pins carried over the match play, so Zaffino was just 39 pins behind the leader, Dale Traber, of Cedarburg, Wis., after qualifying.

After nine of the 10 games of match play, Zaffino was 102 pins ahead, and cruised to victory at 8-2 in match play.

This is the second time in his PBA career Zaffino has defended a title.

Zaffino will compete this weekend at the PBA Debbie & Leo Nunan Memorial Central Open in Grove City, Ohio – near Columbus, also on the PBA50 Central Region Tour.
