EHS spring play, ‘Wizard of Oz,’ presented at Library Theatre
Eisenhower Middle High School Knight-time Players will present their spring play, “The Wizard of Oz,’ Thursday and Friday, April 25-26, at 7:30 p.m. and on Saturday, April 27, at 2 and 7:30 p.m. This non-musical presentation by Ann Coulter Martens, is produced by special permission of The Dramatic Publishing Company.
The classic story of Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tinman and the Cowardly Lion includes students in grades six through 12 and some guest Munchkins from the elementary schools.
Because Eisenhower is undergoring major renovations, the auditorium is not available and the production will be held at the historic Struthers Library Theatre in Warren. This will be a great experience for the cast and crew, as they will perform on a professional stage for the first time.
Tickets will be available from any cast member, in the main office at Eisenhower and at the door. Also, the box office will be open from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, and all day Thursday, April 25. Cost will be $8 for adults, $5 for students and free for children younger than 5.
Pictures with Dorothy (Shelby Willis), the Tin Man (Ricky Zortman), Scarecrow (Chrissy Brunecz), Cowardly Lion (Alyssa Kotar) and the Wicked Witch (Kayla Kuppertz) will be available after the show. Students also will sell wands from Glinda the Good and other memorabilia before and after the shows.
