Soul soup


People wishing to volunteer to help Reghan Chase with her Soul Soup dinner on Friday, April 5, at the Grand Valley Fire Hall, may contact her at 436-7630, or at meganlynn98@

The dinner will feature a number of homemade soups and desserts to benefit Camp Halo, a Christian outreach camp for children.

Townships set

Clean-up Day

Brokenstraw Township’s Clean-up Day will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 27, at the township building for township residents only.

Cost will be $5 per car load or $10 per pick-up truck load.

Tires, paint and hazardous materials will not be accepted.

Pleasant Township’s Clean-up Day will be Saturday, April 27 at the municipal building, 8 Chari Lane, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Township residents may bring any articles to discard, except household garbage, tires, or hazardous materials such as chemicals, biohazards, paint, thinners, and oil. Car batteries will be accepted, but palletized separately. Scrap metals and used motor oil will be collected separately. Gases must be removed from refrigerators, air conditioners, and dehumidifiers.

Driver’s licenses will be checked to verify township residency; seasonal residents may present tax bills.

Pleasant volunteer firefighters will be assisting at the site and accepting donations for the Pleasant VFD.
