Girls Hoops All-Stars
Warren guard Jaimie Eaton’s outstanding high school basketball career officially came to a close this past weekend with her selection as a first-team Region 6 All-Star for the recently completed girls basketball season.
Eaton, a senior, was one of four county female basketball players named to region all-star teams for the 2012-13 campaign along with teammates Taylor Mineweaser and D.J. Hahn on the Region 6 second team and Youngsville sophomore Kennedy Cratty on the Region 3 second-team.
Eaton scored a county-best 446 points during her 23-game senior season, averaging 19.4 points per contest. She finished her career with 1,330 career points – good enough for third all-time among Warren female basketball players. Eaton’s total trailed only Julie McChesney (1,436 points, 1992 graduate) and Nikki Bailas (1,430 points, 1989).
Warren senior guard Mineweaser and freshman forward Hahn were also rewarded for their strong efforts during Warren’s 15-8 season. Mineweaser ran the point and served as the “floor general” for the Dragons, chipping in with 153 points (6.6 ppg). Hahn surprised many with her breakout first season in the blue and white. She finished with 208 points (9.0 ppg) – good enough for second on the team.
While Lady Dragons made up the bulk of Warren County’s all-star selections, Youngsville sophomore forward Cratty made sure the Lady Eagles were not shut out from postseason recognition.
Cratty led the Youngsville squad with 259 points during the a 22-game season that saw the Eagles finish 5-17. Cratty was the lone Eagle to average double figures in scoring with 11.8 points per game.
