Plan Valley Days
Valley Days Committee met March 27 to coordinate events planned for the celebration to be held June 22-23. Plans include:
On Saturday, June 22:
10 to 10:30 a.m.: Photo contest registration at the fire hall garage; contact Kate Baker for early registration or information, call or text her at 688-9822, email email@example.com.
11 a.m.: Parade. For early registration or information contact, Connie Tenney at 827-9462
noon: (approximately) following the parade: Chinese Auction downstairs of the fire hall; for more information call or text Alisha Neely at 964-8156 or Nicole Waychoff at 873-6985.
Princess Pageant: Upstairs of the fire hall; call or text Stephanie Sellen at 657-8594.
Cornhole Tournament. For registration or information, contact Tiffany Haehn.
1 p.m.: Mini Muscle Man: ages 4-9, located on the grounds at the fire hall, information contact Alisha Neely at 964-8156.
Bingo: located on the grounds at the fire hall; more information contact Lisa Johnson.
12:30-3 p.m.: Pony rides on the grounds; contact Connie Tenney 827-9462

2 p.m.: Boy Scouts of America to present the Pine Wood Derby upstairs at the fire hall; text or call Kate Baker for additional information.

Bouncy fun house opens
3 p.m.: Marty’s Bubblegum Machine performs at the fire hall garage.
4-10 p.m.: Chinese Auction winners picked approximately 5:30
The Windy River Band plays from 5:30 to 9:30
After Dark: Fireworks by Jeff Gibson (approximately 10 p.m.)
On Sunday June 23:
10 a.m.-4 p.m.: Craft and vendor show located at the fire hall garage; to sign up for additional information call or text Andrea Platt at 657-8788.
Grand Valley United Methodist Church, always opened for anyone wishing to attend the services
2-5 p.m.: Car Cruise In; for additional information call or text Heather Morris at 673-0330.
The Junior Fireman’s Chicken Bus will be up and running! A fire safety demonstration will be presented. Frosty Jacks concession stand will be available. Little Professor will be out and about. And, a chicken barbecue will be held.
Other events still being worked out include a bake a pie contest, wood splitting contest, Grand Valley history display, caricature creations, a community trolley, garden tractor pulling and a child safety seminar.

The committee is excited to bring everyone a variety of things to do and see. Volunteers will be dressed in T-shirts with the Valley Days logo. They will have the answers to any question you may have, and a number of information posts set up for your convenience.
