Mr. Joseph N. Hecei, 91, passed into the next life at 9:20 a.m., Monday, April 1, 2013 in the Blair Hospice House following an extended illness. He was born March 22, 1922 in Sheffield to the late Carl and Suzanna Seleni Hecei.

Joe spent most of his life in the area retiring from Sylvania after 33 years service. During WW II, while serving in the US Army, he was stationed in Trinidad. A member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and former member of St. Anthony’s Church, he also belonged to the American Legion, Sheffield VFW, and Eagles clubs.

Joe is survived by his wife Joyce Miller Hecei, whom he married May 17, 1946 in Clarendon; three sons, Thomas Hecei and wife Kay, St. Peters, MO, Richard Hecei and wife Patti, Cary, NC, and Timothy Hecei and wife Donna, Meadville; a daughter Sandra Hecei, Warren; two grandchildren, JJ and Heather; one greatgrand daughter Lexie; a brother Raymond and wife Jeanne, Kenmore, NY; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by a grandson, Adam, and six siblings, Carl, Michael, Rosie, Nicholas, Gabriel, and Margaret.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, April 4, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with Reverend Father Richard Toohey, pastor, St. Joseph Catholic Church, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Warren.

Friends may call Wednesday, April 3, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the BordenLloyd Funeral Home where a Vigil Service will be held at 8:00 p.m.
