Divine Mercy

A Divine Mercy Celebration will be held Sunday, April 7, at Holy Redeemer Church, 11 Russell St., Warren. There will be a short ceremony thanking God for His Divine Mercy after the 8 a.m. Mass. A Divine Mercy chaplet will be included.

A Divine Mercy Celebration will be held Sunday, April 7, at St. Joseph Church, 600 Pennsylvania Ave. W., Warren. There will be a Holy Hour from 3 to 4 p.m. with Eucharistic Adoration, Benediction, Divine Mercy Chaplet and Litany. Participants will give praise for God’s great mercy.

Off to Cape May

Wildwood and Cape May, N.J., will be the destination of the Allegheny Community Center, May 13-17, 2013. The trip includes a beach front hotel, four breakfasts, four dinners including one in Atlantic City at Carmines Italian Restaurant followed by a delightful Atlantic City Show. AOC planning

On Tuesday, April 2, members of the Allegheny Outdoor Club (AOC) will hold a planning meeting to announce and plan their participation in the Great Hudson Valley Pedal, a 200-mile bike ride that starts in Albany and continues south through the historic Hudson Valley. The ride will be from July 30 to Aug. 4. For more information go to www.ptny.org/hudsontour. The planning meeting will be held at the home of Linda Ross, 82 Kamp St., Warren, at 6 p.m. Those who are interested should call Ross at 726-3920 or Pat Spicer at 757-8331, evenings, before the meeting.

On Saturday, April 6, the AOC will hike a section of the North Country Trail (NCT). Participants will meet at the NCT trailhead on Rt. 59 in Ludlow, 0.9 of a mile east of Wildcat Park, at 2 p.m. From there they will hike across the plateau then down Gibbs Hill and end up at Bob’s Trading Post on Rt. 321 for pizza. Class to lunch

Warren High School Class of 1959 will meet at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, at the Variety Buffet, Warren Commons, North Warren. The restaurant is handicapped accessible and serves both American and Chinese fare. Now that it’s spring, coordinators hope to have a good turnout.

JCC testing

Jamestown Community College Warren Center will hold placement testing on Thursday, April 11, at 5:30 p.m. and Tuesday, April 16, at 9:30 a.m. Call 723-3577 to register.
