Bonnie White, 91, of Ocala, Fla., passed away on Monday, March 25, 2013 at Rouse Home of Warren County, Youngsville, Pa. after a courageous battle with illness.
Bonnie was born July 10, 1921, in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of the late John and Emma Biddle Smith. She had lived in Ocala, Florida for the past twentyfive years, where she was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Ocala, and was involved in the Blakely Class, VIP Group and Women’s Circle Groups. She had also been a resident of New Brighton, Pa. for thirty years where she was a Sunday School Teacher in Rochester, Pa., and involved in the Women Circle Groups at Church. Bonnie enjoyed family vacations and travel to visit family. She also enjoyed big band music, reading Bible scripture, and singing hymns.
She is survived by two sons, Robert White, Warren, Pa. and Kenneth White, and wife, Jan, Bend, Ore.; two daughters, Barbara McCarrell, and husband, Jay, Palmdale, Ca. and Jean White, and Steve, Midlothian, Texas; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two nieces; and four nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Dr. George Smith, Lapeer, Mich., and John Smith, Florissant, Mo.
Friends will be received at HiersBaxley Funeral Home, 910 E. Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala, FL 34470 on Wednesday, April 3, 2013, from 10 to 11 a.m., at which time a funeral service will be held there with The Rev. Darren Bess, associate pastor, First Presbyterian Church of Ocala, officiating, and Jay McCarrell, assisting. Burial will follow at the Florida National Cemetery, Busnell, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, 823 Filmore Avenue, Erie, PA 16505, or the First Presbyterian Church of Ocala, (in honor of Bonnie White) 511 SE Third Street, Ocala, FL 34471.
