Tyler Leichtenberger of 805 Hillcrest Dr., Warren, has been named to the dean’s list for the second quarter at Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester, N.Y. A third-year student in RIT’s Kate Gleason College of Engineering, Leichtenberger is studying mechanical engineering. He is the son of Tricia Leichtenberger, Warren, and Carl Leichtenberger, Pittsfield, and is a 2010 graduate of Warren Area High School.
Ian Royo, son of Dr. Alejandro A. Royo and Paula Royo of Warren and the late Cassandra M. Bowen, has been accepted at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania for the fall semester. A senior at Warren Area High School, Royo has been active in art club, National Art Honor Society and ski club, and he plays guitar. Royo plans to earn a bachelor of fine arts degree, and he plans to participate in art club, snow sports club and animation club.
Dylan Baker was named to the dean’s list for the fall 2012 semester at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He is freshman at IUP and graduated from Eisenhower High School last year. His parents are Duane and Katie Baker of Lander.
Casey Main was named to dean’s list at Geneva College, Beaver Falls, Pa., for the fall semester. Dean’s List status is awarded to students who earn a 3.6 grade average or better. Main is a junior Christian ministries major.
Several local Slippery Rock University students earned dean’s list honors during fall semester 2012 (ending Dec. 14). To qualify for the SRU dean’s list, a student must earn a 3.5 grade-point average or higher on a 4-point scale while taking 12 or more graded hours of course credit. Lauren Dubyne was recently named a University Scholar at the University of Pittsburgh. This distinction indicates that she is in the top two percent in cumulative undergraduate academic standing within her school. She was recognized at the University of Pittsburgh 37th annual honors convocation on Feb. 22 in the Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh Music Hall. Her future plans include applying to several doctoral programs throughout the country. Dubyne, a 2010 graduate of Eisenhower High School, is the daughter of Phil and Sue Dubyne of Russell.
