Superior Tire/Northwest Savings Bank, made up of a number of Warren County players, closed out the Jamestown Adult Hockey League season in style Sunday night, claiming the B Division Championship with a 7-2 win over Southside Redemption at the Jamestown Savings Bank Ice Arena.
Superior/Northwest stormed out of the gate, using goals from Nate Mahaffey, Trever Wilkins, Matt Wilkins, and Ben Farnham to take a 4-0 lead after the game’s opening period.
Southside Redemption scored the second period’s only goal and added another early in the third to make it a 4-2 game, and had a chance to pull within one on a penalty shot that was turned away by Superior/Northwest goaltender Tim Lindsey.
Two goals from Wes Kuzminski and another from Farnham stopped the Southside rally and secured the win for Superior/Northwest, which finishes the year with an overall record of 15-5-5.
Team members from Warren County include Trever Wilkins, Matt Wilkins, Jon Zigler, Matt Engelbert, Ryan Betts, Mahaffey, Farnham, and Kuzminski.
