Conewango Twp.

Bad check. Conewango Township Police reported that on Mar. 13, police received a bad check from Warren Veterinary Hospital. Patricia A. McCandless, Jamestown, allegedly wrote the check on Dec. 12 in the amount of $193. The check was returned as not sufficient funds. McCandless is being charged with one count summary bad check. Charges have been filed with District Justice Laura Bauer.

Glade Twp.

Harassment. Warren-based state police reported that on Mar. 12 at 3:10 p.m. on W. Fifth Avenue. A known 16-year-old juvenile allegedly followed the victim, a 17-year-old male, in a harassing manner by calling him obscenities and portraying threatening behaviors. The accused continued to yell vulgarities at the victim while traveling along W. Fifth Ave. until they went their separate ways at its intersection with Conewango Ave. Charges were filed against the accused at District Justice Laura Bauer’s North Warren office.

Limestone Twp.

Crash. Warren-based state police responded to a one vehicle accident on SR 337 near Economite Road on March 13 at 11:05 a.m. Martha Smith, 81, Tidioute, was traveling north on SR 337 when the vehicle left the northern berm and struck a tree approximately five feet off the roadway. The vehicle suffered disabling damage to the front of the vehicle and was towed from the scene. Smith was transported to Warren General Hospital by the Tidioute Ambulance to be treated for severe head injury. The cause of the crash is still under investigation. Tidioute VFD assisted on the scene.

Pine Grove Twp.

Simple assault. Warren-based state police reported that on Mar. 14 at 5:45 p.m. a known 21-year-old male and a known 66-year-old female, both of Russell, were engaged in an argument over the volume of the television. The female suspect pushed the male suspect without injury. The male suspect pushed the female resulting in her falling to the floor and injuring her back. The male suspect was arraigned in front of District Justice Cynthia Lindemuth’s office on the charge of simple assault and released on unsecured bail. The female suspect has a pending citation for harassment through District Justice Laura Bauer.


Assault. Youngsville Police are investigating an assault that took place on Mar. 9 at Island Park in the borough of Youngsville at approximately 3 p.m. Police were called by Warren General Hospital staff to investigate the assault. Duston Miller, 19, Youngsville, was assaulted by Devin Powell, 21, formerly of Tiona. Miller was injured in the face and mouth area. Charges will be filed with District Justice Cynthia Lindemuth’s office.

Possession. Youngsville Police reported that Jacqueline Harkins, 32, Pittsfield, is being charged for an offense that occurred on Mar. 7 at approximately 4:15 p.m. Harkins was contacted to pick up her son from police custody for a prior incident that occurred at YEMS on said date and while doing so she brought a small amount of marijuana and pipe to the station. She is being charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. All charges have been filed with District Justice Cynthia Lindemuth’s office.
