Book sale set
The Book Cellar at Warren Public Library will have a “Celebrate Spring” half-off book sale during regular hours now through the end of April. Selections include paperback, hardback, movies and more. The store is located in the basement of the library. The public is invited to stop by.
A “Chicken & Biscuit Dinner” will be served from 1 p.m. until gone on Sunday, March 17, at Grand Valley Fire Hall. Cost will be a donation. A Chinese auction also will be held. Donations are being accepted of items for the auction and desserts for the meal.
An adult dance with music by a disc jockey will be held from 6 p.m. to midnight Saturday, March 23, at Grand Valley Fire Hall. Participants should BYOB. Cost will be $10 per person or $15 per couple. For information, call Connie Tenney at 827-9462.
The dinner and dance are for Carl and Leanne Lindquist who lost there home to a fire a couple of weeks ago. “They have worked hard for our community for many years,” Tenney shared.
Valley Days “Spring for Spaghetti” will be held from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 15, at Grand Valley Fire Hall. Cash donations will be accepted at the door. All proceeds will benefit Valley Days this summer. The menu will include spaghetti, bread, beverage and choice of dessert. The evening also will feature a cash raffle, a gardening basket and a lottery tree.
Due to a special program in the dining room at the Allegheny Community Center on Monday, bingo has been moved to Wednesday at 1 p.m.
Close to the Heart Transplant Support Group will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, in the Jefferson Room at the Warren Library. Warren General Hospital Dietitian Agnes McKenna will speak about nutrition and food safety.
Show & tell set
Starbrick Community Church, 168 Weiler Rd., will have a “Show and Tell” children’s program during the 10 a.m. service Sunday, March 17. Assistant minister Trevor Smith will lead the children in the program. Each child is to bring an item and explain what it is and how they received it. A Biblical truth will then be applied to each item by those present. Following the service there will be a church dinner for those attending the service. Bring a covered dish and your own place setting.
The Warren Public Library’s March 27 “Teen and Tween Game Night” has been canceled due to unavoidable circumstances. The next “Teen and Tween Game Night” will be held April 24 at 3:30 p.m. in the Slater Room. For more information about future gaming events, visit www.warrenlibrary.org/teenlounge.
