Lenten Lunch will be held at the First United Methodist Church at 11:30 today, March 13.
This is a free lunch and is open to all those who wish to attend.
TCCS Board of Trustees
Tidioute Community Charter School board of trustees will meet tonight, March 13 at 7:30 p.m. in the school library.
The board is seeking applications.
Thursday, March 14 will be soup and sandwiches, dessert and beverages.
Monday, March 18 will be hamburg gravy, dessert and beverages.
Tuesday, March 19 will be Ham, scalloped potatoes, dessert and beverages.
Thursday, March 21 will be Hot Dogs, dessert and beverages.
Please call the center at 484-3020 to let the ladies in the kitchen now your coming so they can plan for the correct number attending, also call the center if you need to make arrangements to ride the TWAC bus.
In observance of the Patron of the Erie Diocese “St. Patrick”, St. John’s Church will hold a luncheon on Sunday, March 17, at ST John Center beginning around noon.
All are welcome. Please bring a green dish to share.
Meat, rolls and beverage will be provided by the church.
A short program will be given by the Religious Education Students.
Krispy Kreme donuts
Student Activities Committee at Tidioute Community Charter School is taking orders for Glazed Donuts at $7 per dozen and filled donuts are $8 per dozen.
All orders and money are due on Wednesday, March 20.
Delivery will be on Monday, March 25 from 2:30 p. m. to 4:30 p.m.
Those who would like to order the donuts can call the school at 484-3550.
Checks should be made payable to Tidioute Community Charter School.
Tidioute Community Charter School is now holding open enrollment.
Applications will be accepted from now until May 1.
There is limited class size, so it is important to get your applications in early.
Sunny D Labels
Tidioute Community Charter School students are collecting Sunny D Labels from 20-ounce containers or larger. These will be turned in for free books.
The program donates 20 free books for 20 Sunny D UPC Labels.
The program will also award hundreds of books to the ten schools that collect the most labels.
Box Tops for Education
Don’t forget to collect your Box Tops and Campbell soup labels.
The school earns money for the school from these box tops and soup labels.
National Honor Society will be handing out applications for new inductees for the 2013-2014 school year in grades four through grade eleven.
The applications are due back to Mrs. Guerra and Mrs. Wickert by Tuesday, March 26.
The new Spring Bulldog Gear orders are being taken from now until March 22.

Items that are available include t-shirts, sweatpants, sweatshirts, embroidered items such as hats and shirts, polo shirts, romper t-shirts, and toddler t-shirts
Members of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary are asking for your help in obtaining the addresses of our service personnel who are serving in our military outside the United States.
They would like to send the boxes in time for Easter.

Tidioute Lions Club will be selling brooms during the upcoming Tidioute Health Fair which will be held on Saturday, March 23 from 7 a.m. to noon.
They will have lighter weight for indoor sweeping and the heavy duty ones which work great for outdoor sweeping or in the garages.
Mother’s Day raffle
Pennsylvania State Championship Fishing Tournament committee members are selling tickets for a raffle they will be holding on May 12.
This will be based on the PA Lottery evening drawing on May 12.
Prizes will be $200 if your number comes up straight and there will be $100 if your number is reverse.
Tickets are $1 each and you don’t need to be present for the drawing.
Any unsold tickets become the property of the Pennsylvania State Championship Fishing Tournament Committee.
The Tidioute Community is hosting a benefit for Deb Genter on Saturday, May 11 at the Tidioute Firehall.
Deb was recently diagnosed with ovarian and uterine cancer and she is facing several chemotherapy treatments and surgery and has no insurance.
This benefit will help defray the medical costs that she will be incurring.
Genter has been an active member of our community in many ways over the years and your support for her at this time would be greatly appreciated.
The benefit will consist of a dinner, dance, Chinese Auction, and a number of other raffles.

Tidioute borough council met on Monday at the borough office.
Borough manager, Walt Snavley reported on the bids they received for the old dodge pick up, the winning bid went to Don Genter for $1555.01.
Spring clean up is set for Saturday, May 11 from 8 a.m to noon.
Cost will be $10 for each pick-up load and $5 for each car load.
Collection will be at the borough garage located on Grant St. This year they will accept televisions and electric appliances at no extra cost.
They will not accept building materials.
A resolution was passed naming Walt Snavley, borough manager, Chief Administrative Officer of Employee Pension Plan.
Minutes of the February meeting were accepted and permission was granted to pay the bills and they accepted the treasure’s report.
This year the Pennsylvania State Championship Fishing Tournament Parade that will be held on Saturday, September 28 will be using the theme, “Salute to Volunteers”.
Any organization/civic group can build a float and enter it in the parade. There is no entry fee.

Tidioute borough will hold its annual townwide yard sale on Saturday, May 4.
Those wishing to participate can contact Crystal at the borough office, 494-7424, and have their sale listed on the list of sale locations.
Easter Egg hunt
Pennsylvania State Championship Fishing Tournament will be hosting the annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 30, at 10 a.m. at Tippy Canoe Ballfield, weather permitting.
In cast of inclement weather the location will be changed and announced at that time.
The field will be divided into different age groups and there will be the usual golden eggs. Prizes will be awarded at the conclusion of the Egg Hunt.
There are still a few open time slots for the Comprehensive Blood tests.
This annual event will be held on Saturday, March 23 from 7 a.m. to noon at the Tidioute firehall.
Tests will include heart disease, kidney disease, diabetes, thyroid function, anemia and liver disease.
Cost for the blood test is $40 , which includes a light breakfast.
Men have the option of a prostate cancer testing for an additional $17.
This year an A1C test, which shows blood glucose over a 2 to 3 month period, can be taken for $10.
An A1C test reveals how much glucose is attached to red blood cells.
The longer the glucose level remains high, the higher risk of diabetes-related complications.
According to Warren General Hospital, an ‘A1C reading of 4-5 percent is non-diabetic, 5.7 to 6.4 percent is pre-diabetic, and 6.5 percent or higher is a diagnosis of diabetes.
If left untreated, complications could lead to a risk of vision problems, kidney and nerve damage.
Those taking the test will need to fast prior to the test.
There will be several free tests which will include body fat analysis, blood pressure, pulse oz, height, weight, BMI, bone density/hell screenings, diabetic foot evaluations, and glaucoma screenings.
