Win Pinewood

Derby

The annual Chief Cornplanter Council’s 100th anniversary Pinewood Derby held Saturday, March 9, results are: Elementary Group, first place- Parker Shene; second place-Ellee Irwin; third place- Christian Johnson. In the Junior Group, first place- Wolfgang Himes; second place- Cade Johnson; and third place- Sebastian Mathers. For the Senior group, first place- Tristan Tyler; second place- Jacob Hamilton; and third place- Mike Betts. In the Adult/Open class, first place- Jason Lester; second place- Bob Brown; and third place- Laura Garris. The Best of Show was won by Steven Ashbaugh.

Win at bridge

The results of the Monday evening duplicate bridge game at the YMCA: Jill Dart and Joyce Davis, first with 24; Joann Hultquist and Connie Michell, second with 22.5; and Lana Creal and Doug Megill, third with 22.

Class to dine

Lasagna served

The Warren County Christian School Sports Boosters will host a Spaghetti & Lasagna Dinner from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 16, at the school. Cost will be a donation. Reservations are appreciated but not necessary; call 563-4457 for reservations or more information.

Class to breakfast

Youngsville High School Class of 1948 will have breakfast at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, March 14, at Richard’s Restaurant in Youngsville.

Shower for Pregnancy Center

First Church of God will host a baby shower for the Pregnancy Support Center of Warren County from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 16. Coordinators ask the community to help the less fortunate with items they will need to care for their children like baby wipes, diapers of all sizes, bath towels and wash rags, cribs, car seats, pack and plays, clothing outfits for 0-9 months and monetary donations. Items will be accepted at the church, and participants are invited to stay for cake and punch. Large gift bags also are appreciated as they are used to give the items out. Auction Saturday

Chandlers Valley Community Center will have an auction beginning at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 15, at the center. Items will include spring items and food, fresh produce, Utz chips, pepperoni and cheese and more.

Rummage sale set

The Salvation Army of Warren will have its monthly “Rummage Sale” March 15-16. Hours will be 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. There will be many items from which to choose. For information, call 723-8950.

Polka Sunday

The Slovenian Polka Boosters will dance from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, March 17, at the Ridgway Moose Club. Dick Tady of Springdale will provide music for all types of dancing. The public is invited. For information, call Paul Leofsky at 563-7516.
