Hunger Games

The Sugar Grove Library and the Sugar Grove community are working to plan a unique event never done before in Warren County.

This will be the first annual Sugar Grove Library Hunger games with a twist. It will be a community street fair that will involve good clean fun competitions and will provide nonperishable food items to fill the local food banks. This event will not only raise funds for the local library, it will assist in replenishing the area food banks.

Local businesses are encouraged now to get in on the fun. Contact the Sugar Grove Library at or call 489-7872 or event chairperson Mary Passinger at or 489-3744 to find out how you or your business can become a sponsor of the event. You can also contact them for vendor information and sign up or if you would like to volunteer to be on the set-up crew, take down crew or scorekeeper.

This will be an event like no other. There will be rock climbing, bungee running, archery, obstacle courses, races geocaching, laser tag, hoop shoots, baseball throws, and more and it will all be happening in the streets of Sugar Grove. There will be events for the younger crowd as well including a magic show, games, and crafts.

Donation to

Wrightsville VFD

Gary Fry, past national commander and trustee at AMVETS Post 50, recently presented a donation to Steve Coons, Wrightsville Volunteer Fire Department. Those living in the Sugar Grove area recognize not only our local Sugar Grove VFD but as our community is in a rural area, we know that our neighboring ,Wrightsville Volunteer Fire Department has a lot of miles to cover and does its best to maintain the safety of its residents as well as assist when needed in all areas.
