Abigail Mack, daughter of Leota and Samuel Mack of Warren, has been accepted at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania for the fall semester. A senior at Warren Area High School, Mack has been a four-year varsity cheerleader, secretary of Key Club, president of Spanish club and SADD, and captain of varsity club. She plans to major in world languages and cultures.

Zachary Hitchcock of Russell was named to the dean’s list at Gannon University for the fall 2012 semester with a 4.0 grade average. He is a sophomore in the physician’s assistance program at Gannon and is the son of Dick and Julie Hitchcock, Russell.

Sarah Hitchcock of Russell was named to the dean’s list at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania for the fall 2012 semester with a 3.8 grade average. She is a junior in the speech pathology program at Edinboro and is the daughter of Dick and Julie Hitchcock, Russell.

Neva Matie of Warren was named to the dean’s list at Shippensburg University, Shippensburg, Pa., for the fall 2012 semester.

Ashley Bancroft, daughter of Matt and Sherri Bancroft of Warren, has been accepted at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania for the fall semester. A senior at Warren Area High School, Bancroft has been active in marching band, National Honor Society and church youth group. She plans to major in early childhood education.

Ian Royo, son of Dr. Alejandro A. Royo of Warren and the late Cassandra M. Bowen, has been accepted at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania for the fall semester. A senior at Warren Area High School, Royo has been active in art club, National Art Honor Society and ski club, and he plays guitar. Royo plans to earn a bachelor of fine arts degree, and he plans to participate in art club, snow sports club and animation club.

Jamestown Business College has announced the president’s and dean’s lists for the winter 2012 term. To qualify for the president’s list, a student must earn a 3.90 – 4.00 grade point average for a term. To qualify for the dean’s list, a student must earn a 3.60 – 3.89 grade point average for a term. Named were:

Katlin McAvoy of Warren, has been placed the deans’ commendation list for outstanding academic achievement in the

fall 2012 semester at Gettysburg College, Gettysburg, Pa. Gettysburg College students with a quality point average in the range of 3.300 to 3.599 for a semester’s work are placed on the list.

Berklee College of Music, Boston, Mass., announces that Tyler McClain of Columbus has been named to the dean’s list for the fall semester of the 2012 academic year. To be eligible for this honor, a full-time student must achieve a grade average of 3.4 or better.
